The roast lamb, described as lean and tender, is a favorite among patrons, often mentioned for its incredible flavor and generous portions. The atmosphere is equally praised, with guests appreciating the friendly staff and welcoming locals. Visitors enjoy the outdoor seating option, which enhances the dining experience during pleasant weather. Some visitors mention that the pub can get busy, especially on weekends, which may lead to longer waiting times for food or drink during peak hours. A few diners have also noted that the pub's location can be a bit hard to find for first-time visitors. Although the inn generally offers a cozy atmosphere, a handful of guests wish for more extensive menu options. Additionally, while the outdoor seating is a perk, it may not be suitable during inclement weather, limiting outdoor dining experiences.
New owners are amazing, great atmosphere, really friendly staff and locals, highly recommended and easy access from the A1M
Fantastic little gem . There are 3 chalets at the rear of the pub away from the noise of the road and pub , so very quiet. Very clean, and spacious, we had the family room , bed comfortable , lovely shower & bathroom, a room with a cot wardrobe, and Chester drawers , and out door space with table & chairs which was a lovely bonus. Land lady is very friendly , kind & welcoming. Pub & restaurant superb, food delicious . Breakfast very tasty. Would recommend a stay here !!
Great food and a lovely pub, perfect roast dinner and if you don't like veg Evan better as they bring out the veg out in separate bowls
Absolutely superb lamb roast dinner, friendly bar staff, lovely pub, thoroughly enjoyable first visit.
Sunday lunch was brilliant. Fresh battered mushrooms & homemade garlic mayo. The roast lamb was plentiful, lean and extremely tender. Didn't need a knife !!! Neither of us could manage a sweet. Staff were efficient and attentive but we're were certainly not rushed. Recommend it !!!
Went for lunch yesterday. The food was amazing. I had the best stake pie I have ever tasted. The honey and lavender cheesecake was delicious. We also go for a Sunday lunch sometimes, nice big homemade Yorkshire pudding and the meat just falls apart. It's family run and all the staff there make you feel welcome and are so friendly. One of my favourite places xxx
